Baffle Creek Oil Painting by Chris Hobel

This is a small oil painting on board and measures about 8x10 inches,

very small for me. Im doing a John Wilson Master Class in a few weeks at the Kenilworth Arts Festival and thought I should get back into the oils.

I mostly paint in Acrylics but love oils too, especially in the warm weather.I dont feel as rushed as I do painting with acrylics.

Childers Festival Of Cultures and beyond

Music,dance lots of great food and fun was the theme of the Childers Festival of CulturesI visited with friends on the weekend. The music alone was worth the 3 hour drive from Noosa and all for free, even the food samples, avocados music, cooked recipes . Stand out bands were Los Cobras and Chukale Afro Cuban Salsa Ensemble. We continued on up north to Baffle Creek, Rules Beach and followed the 4 wheel drive track via Deepwater National Park to Agnes Waters and 1770. I took lots of fantastic photos, very inspirational for painting. Must go for a bike ride on such a beautiful day, be back with more news soon.
