Mixed Media Abstract by Noosa artist Chris Hobel

Mixed Media abstract  8x8"
mounted on box canvas ,created  on paper  using acrylic, pencil pastels,lots of layering
It looks a bit whitish on the top right side due to shine from the varnish.
The cut this section from a larger painting. I particularly like the colour combination

I saved this thoughtful  passage recently and had to pass it on

"To live content with small means;
to seek elegance rather than luxury,
and refinement rather than fashion,
to be worthy, not respectable,
and wealthy, not rich;
to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly,
 to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart,
to bear all cheerfully,
to all bravely await occasions,
hurry never.
In a word, to let the spiritual unbidden and unconscious
grow up through the common.
This is to be my symphony."

new computer

At last a new computer,but as the old one totally died, I have a lot of work to do restoring programmes etc
Took a walk down to Main Beach Noosa to see all the action at the long board festival after the huge swells created by the cyclones up North
Lots of colour and action
 Hopefully some inspiration for future paintings. My classes are back to normal tomorrow with a full day of painting ... waves of course

Before and After Painting.

Sometimes I decide to alter a finished painting a year or so after completion.I was not happy with the colour of the ocean or sky, so Ive made a few changes and also added some human interest. I would love to hear your comments
